We are only 20 mins. from historic Angoulême (airport served by Ryanair), and we are situated in a quiet pleasant hamlet, just 5 mins. away from picturesque Mouthiers sur Boeme, which fulfils basic needs with boulangeries, restaurants, bar, post office, doctor, dentist, mini-supermarket,pharmacy,cashpoint,& charcuterie.
Large supermarkets 15-20 mins away.
There is an abundance of activities on offer in the area. Pleasure Lake (20 mins) with boating, swimming, wind-surfing and fishing. Aubeterre (canoeing), Brantome (canoeing) and Cognac (cruising on the Charente/golf/cognac houses), are 35 mins drive. The coast (Royan) and Futuroscope are approx. 1H30 away or simply pop into Angoulême for lunch with it's abundance of restaurants,cafe/bars, boutiques and culture.
Cognac/Wine tasting at our neighbours' vineyards is also a pleasurable pastime.
The resident English owners keep a low profile but are happy to assist in any way during your stay.
